Dogs are known for their loyalty and love. They form deep bonds with people and always show affection no matter what. Over time, these friendships only grow stronger. Whether they’re comforting us during tough times or simply making our days brighter, dogs have a special place in our hearts.
Carlos Fresco shared this kind of bond with his 10-year-old dog, Monty. Monty wasn’t just a pet; he was family. Sadly, Monty was diagnosed with leukaemia, and though he received treatment, the illness returned and weakened him.

Seeing Monty’s health decline, Carlos wanted to make his final days joyful. He decided to take Monty to their favorite spots, giving him one last adventure. Carlos gently placed Monty in a wheelbarrow and took him to the places they had enjoyed over the years. Monty sat there comfortably, soaking in the fresh air.

It was heartwarming to see the pair revisiting those special places. Other hikers joined in, walking alongside Monty and Carlos, and it was clear that Monty was enjoying the experience.

One of Monty’s favorite walks was up a mountain in Wales. Carlos shared that this was his way of honoring Monty, who had always been a source of joy for everyone around him. Monty passed away peacefully on June 21st, 2021, leaving behind beautiful memories.

Carlos still cherishes the time they spent together and feels grateful for their bond. Monty will always hold a special place in his heart.
